Declared the UNESCO 1,000th World Heritage Site the iconic Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world. This unique link between large bodies of water and the sand-covered or savannah landscape of the Kalahari has produced a wide range of flora and fauna which makes the Delta one of the largest nature paradises in the world. About one third of the area of the Delta forms part of Moremi Game Reserve, the oldest game reserve in Botswana, the best game viewing area and the first of its kind to be established by a community in Africa in March 1963.
